I Like To Run: It is the time that it allows me to self reflect mostly, removing the restrictions of usual vocations and the stresses that come with the requirements associated with the workplace. It allows me to explore and visit places I wouldn’t have normally considered, mainly out of curiosity of where the trail leads when on the trails, or how far I can go when following the road. It is also for being health conscientious with the mindset of improving overall health. When in group environments, get to share the common struggles that we can probably all relate to and how we become better by these accomplishments and self goals we seek to achieve.

Running Accomplishments: I have ran in the last 2 Revel Charleston Halfs (2018 and 2019) and the 1 that turned virtual when it canceled last year. Broken into organized trail running events right before pandemic hit with Triple Dare Running Company Trail Trashed event in March 2020. In other states, ran in 20k in Dam to Dam in Des Moines, IA and Sprouts Mesa Half marathon in Phoenix, AZ. Most other accomplishments have been self goals achieved, planned or spur of the moment, such as when I did a 8 mile out and back from Universal Studios to the trailhead of the Hollywood sign, those are some of the most memorable as well.

My Favorite Run: Without a doubt, so far my favorite run has been one that my mother did several times when I was younger, and one that I did on their final 39th iteration as original race organizers, in which I also ran with my brother, at the 20k Dam to Dam in Des Moines, IA

When I’m Not Running I Like To: Relax and enjoy time with family, even if it isn’t doing much of anything. I like to focus on hobbies and activities, some that intertwine with one another. With amateur radio my goal is to incorporate my experience with trail running and hiking to reach the summits around the area and gain points based on elevation and time of the year. The program is called Summits On The Air, or SOTA. You may see my runs associated with such acronyms from time to time. I think this year I’m also going to get back into model kit building and painting that I abandoned years ago.
