Hometown: La Jolla in San Diego, California. I grew up very close to the ocean!

I Like To Run: Running is the fastest stress reliever I know of, but I first started running for the sheer joy of the wind in my hair and having the world fall away. I ran barefoot in the canyons of San Diego before joining the La Jolla High School Cross-Country team. I think running in the canyons combines my love of running and hiking.

Running Accomplishments: In high school and as a military spouse, I competed in many races. While at LJHS I won a lot of XC races, which made me want to continue to compete. Races I recommend are the San Blas Half in Puerto Rico and the Sand Man Triathlon in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I ran one marathon, the San Francisco Chronicle.

My Favorite Run: It’s in La Jolla and goes along the Coast Walk by the La Jolla cove. You start at Windansea beach, follow the coastline using the bike lane and turn around at the Scripps Pier parking lot. It’s about 8 miles long.

When I’m Not Running I Like To: I like to hike, water ski and snow ski with my husband.
